A very hyped rip-off artist ! The reason ? Well, because he cut up Kanjeevaram sarees and made them into slinky dresses a la Anna Sui.
For The Moment :
Manish now works with Dhiren Shah of Sheetal, the people who clothe Miss India World and Miss India Universe. He designs exclusive collections for the Sheetal Design Studio.
His Best Look :
Karisma Kapoor in Raja Hindustani. "It was completely new - from her haircut to her make-up to her eyes. It was the first time she wore brown lenses. I do not know if you have read about this designer, Xerxes Bathena, who was a very big designer in his times. He said that he admired some of my work in Raja Hindustani because the clothes were very simple and yet had a formal look. It is very difficult to do simple clothes but is very easy to do heavy drapes, ghagras and then form an impact."
His Mantra :
Manish says he is "Selfless, not cocksure. I don't expect results immediately. I'm restless, but patient to wait for break-throughs. I'm willing to work hard and that little insecurity gives me a creative edge."
