Icarus or Ikarus or Ikaros, either way is correct. In kuwait's official documents it's spelled Ikaros, the original name of Failaka Island, named by the Greeks.

SWS, You're absolutely right, he's the guy who flew too close to the sun and melted his wax wings and drowned, they named Icaria the island after him in the Aegean sea (and Failaka looked like that island, so they named it similarly)

The spellings you mention are all valid transliterations from the original Greek, but "Ecarous" isn't (it starts with iota not epsilon, for one thing, and the -ous ending is never used).

My point is this: these guys want to start publishing a new newspaper and they can't even spell the name? Sij 3aib. Not a good omen.

i think what PerseusQ8 is trying to say here,its with "I" not "E"... the whole point is it would be a shame to have the tittle of a "newspaper" misspelled! it might lead to losing its efficiency... that would be a first in the entire world... i guess this is your first visit in here...welcome to my mountain
