never ending Questions
so i went to our neighbors wedding .. and they're shiites.. and i was about to compliment their sister in law when i said
"among all the 3ayam weddings i've been to, yours had the best sufra"
and she had the weirdest look on her face " we're not 3ayam" she said!!!
so i went home and told mom and she said 3ayam would rather be called shee3ah than being called 3ayam .. is that true? because i thought calling someone shee3iyah or sinniyah has some sort of a racist touch in it.. i didnt want to offend her by calling her shee3iyah! ... so i have a friend who happened to be 3eemiyah shee3iyah and i've ALWAYS brought the "3ayam" word up and she never commented on that.. is she like too cool for this or is she used to me saying that word so she thought its too late to correct my info!!!!!... so DEAR FELLOW SHEEE3AH .. can you clear this up for meee?

on another note.. it happened that i am brutally honest which isn't helping me in my every day life.. my uncle's wife is almost 60 and she was talking about a project that will be build in 30 years that she wants to visit .. and i unconciously said
الله بعد ناوية تعيشين 30 سنه زود؟
a colleague at school is 51 she was complaining of some stomache ache and i asked her whats the reason so she said its because shes having her period .. and again i slipped and said
ااااااااااللللللللللللله.. ليلحين تييك؟
وحدة معانا بترقعها وقالت شدعوة ام علي مو كبيرة ..
قلت لاا مو قصدي عشان اهي عمرها فوق الخمسين....
and thats when i realized i had to shut my mouth... too late? huh you just wish
بس الله ما يطق بعصا .. توني مكملة 25 و كانوا يسولفون عن بنت عمرها 19 او 17 نسيت والله المهم انها انخطبت و كان تعليق ولد خالي اي هذا الزين مو اللي يخطبون لهم عيايز على 24

وحدة شفناها بالسفر و قعدنا نسولف معاها عن الفايرووركس و اذا شافوها كان تقول اي رحنا بمركب أبوي و شفناهم واحنا في البحر.. عاد يوم قلت حق خالي كان يقولي أي مركب؟؟؟ ابوها عنده يخت ب 30 مليون كويتي.. صج بنت نيادة.. زين ما قالت بوم أبوي

Why didn't you simply say: "among all the weddings i've been to, yours had the best sufra"?
Did you really have to bring up the shi3a/3ayam thing?
Does the food served by shi3a/3ayam on their weddings fall under a different category than the one served by sunnis or badu?
This says things about yourself.

(3ayam) and (shee3a) are two different categories.
Shee3a = (math-hab)
While 3ayam = (a9il)
So they could be 3ayam shee3a or 7asawiya or 7atta Failichawiya shee3a. There are also 3ayam who are sunna. Get it?
Next time try to compliment her dress or shoes and save yourself those complications :-)
